Health mistakes you might be making everyday
You may be surprised at how unhealthy your healthy lifestyle may be. Yes, of course most of us were all told to eat healthy, exercise, maintain relationships etc. BUT here are three things that people do every day that are quite the opposite of being healthy.
Number one, not getting enough sleep. Sleep is necessary in order for your body to function correctly. According to The National Sleep Foundation the average adult should get around seven to nine hours of sleep a night. They also state that during sleep memories are consolidated, muscles and tissues are repaired, and the information received prior to sleeping is logged and recorded into the long-term memory.
Number two, brushing your teeth after breakfast. The problem with this is that most breakfast foods are highly acidic (ex: juices, fruit). When you routinely brush your teeth after consumer’s acidic foods or drinks your enamel can be severely damaged and enamel never grows back.
Number three, not getting enough calcium. Growing up I was repeatedly told as a child that milk makes your bones stronger. This is an absolute fact. Calcium also contributes to the communication of our nerves. It helps send messages throughout our body. The issue that people don’t understand is that our body cannot and does not produce calcium. Therefore, we lose it every day through our skin, sweating, nails and hair. It is recommended for people under 50 to take a daily calcium intake of 1000 mg.
